Assign responsibilities
| Question | Evidence to request |
|---|---|
| Who performs the work? | Business identity and applicable licensing and insurance |
| What is included? | Written scope, exclusions and change process |
| When can it be used? | Project-specific curing and return-to-use instructions |
| Who handles approvals? | Named responsibility in the agreement |
Verify the business yourself
Ask for the business name, contact details and the credentials and insurance required for the actual work. Verify them with the appropriate issuing authority or insurer. The site is a connection and information service; it does not guarantee contractor qualifications or workmanship.
Ask for a complete written scope
The scope should identify intended use, dimensions, preparation, finish and excluded work. Ask who handles approvals, related trades, inspections and cleanup. Keep the proposal with any referenced plans or samples so that the agreement can be understood later.
Explain payment and change decisions
Ask about payment milestones and how changes are requested, priced and authorized. Read the written terms before agreeing and keep records. Do not let pressure or an unsupported promise of immediate availability replace a clear contract discussion.
Use the hiring conversation card
Write down the business identity, insurance verification, required credentials, project scope, approval owner, payment terms, change process and written warranty. Put a question mark beside anything unresolved. The goal is an informed decision, not a claim that a checklist guarantees a good result.
Put the guidance to work
Use the project planner to organize dimensions and questions. Keep the actual address ready for the provider; do not enter personal information here.
